War in Afghanistan and Pakistan: A critical moment to voice your opposition

[PDF][Print]

The President and Congress are reviewing U.S. policy on the wars in Afghanistan and Pakistan. This is a critical moment. This may be a turning point for the expanding U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Pakistan, a time when speaking out clearly and unambiguously against war can make a crucial difference. We urge you to sign the Campaign for Peace and Democracy emergency statement calling for an end to military intervention in both countries. The statement declares us firmly against military escalation in the region and for the withdrawal of all U.S. and NATO forces from Afghanistan and Pakistan now. Your support can make a real difference: it will add to the impact of the statement at a time when public opposition to these disastrous wars is building. A list of the initial signers and the text of the statement are at the CPD website, www.cpdweb.org. We aim to collect a large number of signatures very quickly, and then publish the statement and list of signers as widely as possible, both in this country and internationally. If for any reason you have difficulty at the website, send an email to cpd@igc.org. We urge you to circulate the statement to your colleagues and friends.
