Support for Tunisia's democratic revolution

[PDF][Print]

The Campaign for Peace and Democracy (CPD) has issued an informative and politically important statement about events in Tunisia.
CPD’s eloquent and persuasive letter contains helpful historical and political analysis to support the call for  “Washington and Paris, the two major props of the regime,to keep their hands off Tunisia” and allow “the Tunisian people to establish a society that provides full democratic rights and social justice.” The statement ends with the reminder that we cannot predict what will result from this new social movement but that the events pose a danger to authoritarian regimes throughout the Middle East. The courage and desire for freedom expressed by the people of Tunisia is an inspiration “for real democracy everywhere, from Egypt to Jordan to Saudi Arabia to the United States.”
I just wrote a check to support CPD’s work and encourage readers of my blog to do likewise. You can learn how to donate on the CPD website.

If you’ve read this far, you were pretty interested, right? Isn’t that worth a few bucks -maybe more?  Please donate and  subscribe to help provide our informative, timely analysis unswerving in its commitment to struggles for peace, freedom, equality, and justice — what New Politics has called “socialism” for a half-century.
